As a school district, we are required by law to place an excess levy on the ballot during a general election. This changed in 2018 with the passage of Senate Bill 152.
We are running the levy early because personnel season would come before we could run the levy again, meaning cuts would have to start happening prior to knowing if it passed or failed in the future.
Our current levy will be in place for two more years; the new levy would not take the place of our current levy call. This new levy would start after this one runs out.
