Biology Classes Visit Conaway
Students from the WVU Biology and Biology II classes at Tyler Consolidated High School recently spent an afternoon at the Conaway Run Lake Wildlife Management Area, located off WV Rt.18 near Centerville. The group studied the ecology of the Conaway area. They conducted various water tests on Conaway Run, examined topographic maps of the area, made plaster casts of animal tracks, and did several other activities while at the camping area at the upper end of the lake.
The DNR Area Manager, Tammy Shreve, met with the group to discuss the various hunting, fishing, and camping offerings of the Conaway WMA, along with a discussion of her educational background and what she likes the most and least about her position.
The classes are taught by Mr. Joe Griffith. Biology teacher Mrs. Lori Franks also accompanied the group to the lake.
